The old CAVEradio mascot, Partybot 6000, was recently spotted in Thailand…yes, Thailand. Contest winner Johnny, who won the Henry Rollins Tattoo contest, took Partybot with him on his vacation and got a few shots of Partybot enjoying Southeast Asia amongst fireworks, breakdancers, flying paper lanterns and lots of people. Our 1-hour experiment last didn’t turn out that well, so we came back to delight you with a full 120 minutes of jolly entertainment. And believe it or not, this 2-hours was packed solid.
We of course mourned the loss of a childhood hero, Corey Haim, which quickly exposed a problem with friend of the show, Will. He hasn’t seen The Lost Boys. So we took some time to help Will out by discussing some other pop culture necessities that everyone should be aware of and enjoy. What is on your must-know list?
We then listened to all the entries for the Answering Machine contest and listener Kevin hit a home run with his Tiger Woods voicemail. Kevin wins the $10 Amazon gift card, congratulations!
Miranda called in to bring back the Airing of Grievances with a complaint about insurance companies and their “wellness” programs. Or in other words, the “Everybody is Fat” program. It’s time to damn The Man.
And last but not least, we took a quick look at whether it really makes sense to abandon cable TV for the all on-line option. It sounds cool…it is cool…but does it really save you anything? And are those savings worth the inconvenience?
